Galatians 6:9 (NIV) Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.
It’s July O’clock – Do you know where your 2024 goals are? Like you, I am amazed that we are over halfway through the year. Life moves so fast that it’s easy to be busy, but not accomplish the things that are most important to you.
You may look at the goals you set at the beginning of the year and some areas may going well, and some are not. It would be natural to be disappointed by unfulfilled goals, especially if you thought you would be further along at this point in the year. However, you can choose to practice a mid-year reset over midyear defeat by following the steps below.
- Review – What’s gone well? Celebrate your accomplishments and praise God. Sometimes, we neglect to practice gratitude for God’s goodness and our progress. Also, consider what did not go well. What was in your control, and what was not in your control? Are there changes you can make at this point in the year to ensure success by year-end?
- Refresh – Pray for wisdom & guidance. Decide where you want to go from here. Let go of mistakes and begin again. Consider: what goals will you add to your list; what goals will you delete; and what goals will you refine?
- Renew your commitment. What actions will you take to finish the 2nd half of the year strong?
Thank God for His new mercies! Just as the start of every year is a new beginning, so is the start of every month, every week and every day.
Lamentations 3:21 – 23 (KJV)
This I recall to my mind, therefore have I hope. It is of the Lord’s mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.
