About Candace

Candace Gray began her professional career as a Certified Public Accountant with companies, Coopers & Lybrand Accounting Firm and Pepsico Food Systems.  She transitioned to the nonprofit sector to fulfill her desire for a career with greater purpose and meaning. 

Since that time, she has provided leadership in the nonprofit sector for over 25 years.  Her roles have included leading the launch of the Foundation for Community Empowerment (FCE), a nonprofit founded by a prominent CEO in the real estate industry.  Following her tenure with FCE, she began consulting nonprofits, for-profits and foundations to increase their capacity to deliver on their mission. 

For more than ten years, she has worked as a senior leader for the faith-based organization, Buckner Children and Family Services, which operates in nine cities in Texas and six international locations.  She has led the organization’s short and long-range planning processes, developed systems for operational excellence and led program design.  She has traveled on assignment to Mexico, Guatemala, Honduras, Peru, the Dominican Republic, Kenya and Ethiopia, guiding the assessment and implementation of operational excellence initiatives.  Currently, she serves as the Senior Executive Director for Northeast Texas, overseeing operations & program leadership in Dallas, Longview & Lufkin. 

Ms. Gray is an active leader in Concord Church Dallas, serving in the Missions ministry.  She has led trips to Ghana, Kenya, Dominican Republic & Israel and represented the church at a conference in Haiti.  She currently serves as a board member for a Globe Outreach, a global nonprofit providing services in Ethiopia.      

Whether the role is professional or volunteer, Ms. Gray lives her mission of helping people pursue purpose, fulfill their God-given potential, and maximize their impact.
